Graduated from Leningrad State University in 1984. PhD in Economics.

 

From 2000 to 2004 - Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Russian Federation.

 

From 2004 to 2008 - Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Russian Federation, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation.

 

From 2008 to 2012 - Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

 

Since May 2012 till now – Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, Chairman of the Management Board of Rosneft.

 

From 2004 to 2011 – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosneft.

 

He was newly elected to the Board of Directors of Rosneft in November 2012.

 

Since June 2013 till now – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosneft.

 

Igor Sechin holds a seat in the boards of several organizations.
