H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic LiberiaHer Excellency Mme. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, is an accomplished diplomat and development leader with nearly three decades of international experience in governance, crisis management, and humanitarian response. As Liberia’s chief diplomat, she has been pivotal in revitalizing the country’s foreign policy and securing its election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (2026–2027), a milestone achievement for the nation.
In her dual role as Foreign Minister and Dean of the Cabinet, she advises the President on foreign policy and fosters coordination across government institutions to advance national priorities. Minister Nyanti is driving Liberia’s economic diplomacy agenda, strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties, decentralizing passport services, and expanding Liberia’s diplomatic footprint worldwide.
Prior to her appointment, she held senior leadership positions within the United Nations, including UN Resident Coordinator in South Sudan and Nepal, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Assistant Secretary-General in UNMISS, and senior roles with UNICEF, where she co-led Nigeria’s Ebola response.
Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Liberia’s National AIDS Control Program, successfully mobilizing global health funding. A passionate advocate for gender equality and inclusive governance, Minister Nyanti is celebrated for her integrity, empathy, and transformative leadership, championing peace, justice, and sustainable development across Africa and beyond.
