H.E. Dr. Nawaf Salam

H.E. Nawaf Salam has been serving as the Prime Minister of Lebanon since February 2025. He was previously a judge on the International Court of Justice (“ICJ”) from 2018 until 2025 and was elected President of the ICJ in 2024, becoming the second Arab and the first Lebanese judge to hold the office. He also served as Lebanon’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from 2007 to 2017, during which time he held the positions of President of the Security Council and Vice President of the General Assembly. He holds a Doctorate in Political Science from Sciences Po, a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, and a Doctorate in History from the Sorbonne.
