H.E. Dr. Ahmad Al-Sayed

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, State of Qatar

Dr. Al-Sayed served as a founding Chairman of Qatar Free Zones Authority from 2018-2024. Prior to joining QFZA, he served as CEO of Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Holding where he played a critical role to build, oversee and manage Qatar Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Dr. Al-Sayed held key roles in Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment and also served as board member for different local and international companies like Qatar National Bank, Qatar Development Bank, Vice Chairman of Qatar Exchange, Canary Wharf and Volkswagen Group and Executive Chairman of Harrods.

Dr. Al-Sayed holds a PhD from Oxford University UK, a Trium Global MBA, a Master of Banking and Financial Law from Boston University and an LLB from Qatar University. He was also awarded an Honorary Degree (DLitt) in July 2019 from Swansea University, UK.
