H.E. Armen Gigoryan

Secretary of the Security Council, Republic of Armenia

Armen Grigoryan has been the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia since 2018. He graduated from the Department of International Relations at Yerevan State University in 2007. He later studied at the American University of Armenia in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs from 2009 to 2011. Armen Grigoryan has held various key roles: he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia as an acting minister; he was the coordinator of the working group for the creation of the Armenia's Foreign Intelligence Service, which was established in October 2023; he was a project coordinator for electoral programs at Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center; and he served as a visiting lecturer at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.

He has published articles on democratisation, civil society development, and geopolitical issues, and has researched Armenia's political elite. In addition, he is the author of the scientific study: ''Political Elite in Post-Soviet Armenia: Characteristics and Ways of Formation''
