Dr. Gawdat Bahgat is a distinguished professor at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, National Defense University in Washington DC. He is the author of 11 books and more than 200 articles in scholarly journals. His work has been translated to several languages. His most recent book, Defending Iran from Revolutionary Guards to Ballistic Missiles, was published by Cambridge University Press. Bahgat’s areas of expertise include energy security, climate change, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, technology and national security and American foreign policy in the Middle East. Bahgat has more than 30 years of government and academic experience.
