Dr. Paul Porteous

Director, Centre for Social Leadership
Presidential adviser, diplomat, international lawyer and academic, Dr Paul Porteous is a thought-provoking leadership theorist and practitioner with over 35 years professional experience spanning the globe. He has been a representative to numerous international organisations including the United Nations and International Court of Justice as well as Visiting Faculty at Harvard Kennedy School and a Fellow at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership. Paul was Senior Adviser to the President of Madagascar for four years, developing cutting edge leadership practice for nation-building and the alleviation of poverty. He has developed national policy initiatives and provided executive leadership training for Government Ministers and Heads of Departments across the world, and has coached hundreds of CEOs and senior executives in government, NGO and corporate sectors. Paul was Director of the Australian Secretariat for the United Nations World Summit for Social Development, leading the development of innovative social policies addressing global poverty, unemployment and social disintegration. He is Adjunct Professor and Director of the Centre for Social Leadership focusing on sustainable development, humanitarian and post-conflict practice, foreign policy and community engagement.
