Dr. Dalal Najib is the Senior Director, Science and Engineering Capacity Development, at the Policy and Global Affairs Division of the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM), where she oversees fellowships, early-career and international capacity building programs. She is the Principal Investigator on multiple US government funded projects and has developed new NASEM collaborative programs in the Arab region, Africa (e.g., the US-Africa Frontiers program), and more recently in Latin America and the Caribbean. From 2011 to 2019, Dr. Najib participated in the co-design and implementation of the USAID-funded Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) Program at NASEM, where she managed the Africa, MENA and Central Asia portfolios. Dr. Najib holds a PhD in Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering, and a Master’s in Public Policy from University of Michigan. She has a Bachelor's degree in aerospace and aeronautical engineering from Supaero (France).
