Dr Gerhard Wahlers is the Deputy Secretary General and Head of the Division European and International Cooperation at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). Under his leadership, the international work of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has been further expanded and now maintains more than 100 overseas offices worldwide. Previously, Wahlers headed the KAS country offices in the USA (1997-2003) and Israel (1994-1997). He is also the author and editor of numerous contributions and publications on topics of international politics as well as German and European foreign, security, and development policy.
