Dayne Curry
Afghanistan Country Director, Mercy CorpsDayne Curry is Afghanistan Country Director for Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian and development organization, based in Kabul. Mr. Curry has nearly two decades of experience leading and managing assistance programs in Afghanistan, specializing in food and water security, agricultural development, and private sector and market systems strengthening. Under his leadership, Mercy Corps has recently played pivotal roles in providing sustainable solutions for families and communities adversely affected by chronic and acute onset emergencies, including those affected by the 2023 Herat Earthquakes, those struggling by the impacts of climate change, and Afghans returning from Pakistan and Iran after decades of displacement. Mr. Curry actively provides leadership in numerous coordination forums supporting humanitarian and basic human needs programs in the country, engaging the current Taliban-led de facto government to ensure principled and equitable delivery of assistance to Afghan communities. In addition to his professional background, Mr. Curry holds a Master of International Service from American University in Washington D.C., and a Master of Organizational Leadership from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul (Minnesota).
