Arwa Damon

Founder and President, INARA
Arwa Damon is a multi-award-winning former Senior International Correspondent for CNN, best known for her ability to draw out nuanced human stories amidst war and other crises. She was one of the networks leading experts on the Middle East. Motivated by witnessing children with catastrophic injuries in warzones lacking access to medical care, Arwa founded the charity INARA in 2015 while she was still at CNN. In 2022, while organizing a Kilimanjaro summit for INARA, she realized the unique opportunity to convey the extraordinary stories of war survivors to a wider audience. Believing in the documentary's impact, Damon took a significant step by leaving CNN to direct and produce “Seize the Summit”. It has long been her passion to transition into the documentary film world, leveraging her extensive 17-year experience in storytelling to present global issues to diverse audiences in innovative ways. Arwa is also a senior non-resident fellow with the Atlantic Council. Arwa graduated with honors from Skidmore College, where she earned a double major in Biology and French, and a minor in International Affairs. Arwa is Syrian-American and fluent in Arabic, Turkish, English, and French.
