Chief Adviser on National Security and Foreign Policy to the President, Ambassador, Republic of TürkiyeAkif Çağatay Kılıç was born in 1976 in Siegen, Germany. He studied economics and political sciences at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. Akif Çağatay Kılıç served as an advisor and deputy chief of cabinet to H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan then PM and Founding Leader of the Justice and Development Party and the current President of the Republic of Turkey.
Akif Çağatay Kılıç was appointed Minister of Youth and Sports for the 61st Government of the Republic of Turkey on 25 December 2013. He remained in office for 62nd and 63rd Governments of the Republic of Turkey under Prime Ministry.
Re-elected MP from Samsun Province for the Justice and Development Party for the 25th and 26th parliamentary term, Akif Çağatay Kılıç was appointed again the Minister of Youth and Sports for the 64th and 65th Governments of the Republic of Turkey until June 2017.
In the 27th Parliamentary elections, He performed as the Chairman of the Turkish Delegation to Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the GNAT. He is currently Ambassador and the Chief Adviser on National Security and Foreign Policy to the President.
