Dr. Abdul Hai Qanit is an Afghan diplomat and scholar serving as the Director General of the Third Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, where he leads the country’s regional diplomacy with China, Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. He also serves as the acting Director General of the Center for Strategic Studies at the Ministry, guiding research and policy analysis to support Afghanistan’s foreign policy objectives.

Dr. Qanit has held several key diplomatic roles, including service at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Kuala Lumpur and as Deputy Director of the Third Political Division. His work focuses on strengthening Afghanistan’s strategic partnerships, promoting constructive engagement with neighboring countries, and contributing to regional stability.

A scholar of international relations, Dr. Qanit holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia. His research and publications explore Afghanistan’s foreign policy, regional affairs, and China’s soft power strategy.

Dr. Qanit is an active contributor to academic and policy dialogue, serving on editorial boards and lecturing at universities in Kabul. He is also a regular commentator for major international and Afghan media outlets, providing expert analysis on diplomacy, governance, and regional dynamics.
